  • After taking your active filters into account, our Search algorithm is designed to show Hirers results that are relevant to them. Each individual may see slightly different results based on who they are and what search criteria they have entered. Here are the basic factors that Search is weighing, beyond your selected filters:

Recent status updates - newly Available Creatives will rank higher on the list

Completeness of profile - titles, skills, work history, and bio are all filled at

Completeness of portfolio - at least 3 projects uploaded and viewable

Connections - the more shared connections between the Hirer and the Creative, the better

  • Working Not Working asks every creative member where they want to work through their Top 3 companies and Company Pages.

Your Dashboard has Hot Leads, where you can see creatives who have tagged your company as a place they want to work. You can also see every creative that has listed your company as a previous client or employer without having to go through Search.

The creatives in this section are sorted based on real-time availability, so be sure to add them to your Dashboard for quick reference with a Follow.

  • Working Not Working uses a creative profile template to allow our members a number of ways to express their skills, experience, and portfolio.

This short video covers the most important aspects of the creative profile.

  • We include Skills Tags to give Hirers a better picture of what a Creative can do. We ask every Creative to add their skills from our database, which is updated as the industry evolves new techniques and applications. Our community helps us stay on top of this by submitting new skills they are using.

As a Hirer, you can search all these skills, and many other criteria, with our Search filter.

When you are creating a job post, it is also important to include the relevant skills needed right in the post from this same database:

This will help inform your potential applicants whether they should be applying to your job, making it easier for you to get more of the leads you want and less of the ones you don't.

  • Every Hirer is given the ability to invite Creatives who they think should be part of the Working Not Working community.

Invites are a great way to expand your existing network of creative talent, as you'll start to see who they know and have worked with.

If you're looking to build on an existing creative team at your company, bring that team on to Working Not Working and you'll benefit from them showing off company work on their profiles.

The "Invite a Creative" button is located in your Settings menu. Just click your profile photo thumbnail in the upper right corner of the navigation bar.

Then enter the creative's email to send them an invite.

They'll receive emailed instructions with steps to start building their profile. A new creative will be 'Non-Vetted', which means they have yet to be approved by the Membership Board and elevated to full Verified status.

Non-Vetted creatives can still be followed, messaged, and hired.

Prospective creatives can also apply for membership on their own

Job Posting

  • Creatives and hirers both consistently stress the importance of communication in any job-related interaction. We've added active response statistics to Working Not Working so creatives and hirers now know how quickly they can expect a response from the person they're reaching out to. This will help you be as efficient as possible in your job searches, and even help you prioritize who you're reaching out to.

Your response time is the average length of time it takes you to respond to an incoming message. Your response rate is the percentage of incoming messages to which you respond. These visible metrics help set expectations and encourage quicker and more productive engagement.

  • Understanding your job post's performance is an important part of the hiring process, providing context on candidate interest and insights into its appeal.

With a job post on Working Not Working, you can see the number of views from the community and on which days.

A post with a high number of views but a low number of applicants may signal a need to change the language of the post to make it as appealing as possible.

  • After posting your job on our site, be proactive and use our Search and Recommendations features to invite candidates to view and apply to your job.

Connect with our support team to learn about other ways WNW can elevate your job post to reach a larger audience through potential collaborations.

Making the Best of my Subscription

  • A Creative will know your name and company if you Follow (or Vouch, with mutual follows) them or someone in their network. They will see you in their notification feed.

When you Follow or Vouch for a creative they receive an email that says "________ from ______ is now following your availability on Working Not Working."

Your contact info is never included in those emails, so you'll never be exposed to unsolicited emails from Creatives. You can also toggle your Message Preferences from Account Settings > Preferences.

  • Rate is supposed to be seen as more of a guideline than anything else. That being said, here are the breakdowns across currencies.
