Making London: The Conference for Creators

Making London:
The Conference for Creators

WORKING NOT WORKING

There's a brand new one-day conference that we're co-sponsoring with Eventbrite and we want to get it on your radar. It's called Making London, and it's happening this Wednesday, 2 May at Conway Hall near Holborn. You can get tickets here.

The theme is the Conference for Creators. One day of stories and conversations with groundbreaking inventors, designers, creators and doers from companies like Instagram, Vice, Google, Adidas, ASOS, Dazed, The Orchard, The Unseen, Secret Cinema, Sofar Sounds and many more. 100% of the ticket sales are going to We Are Stripes, an organization that works to create opportunities for individuals from ethnic backgrounds in the creative industries, so your money will be going to good use. Tickets are £10 for students, £25 for freelancers and startups and £75 for companies.

A message from Making London Co-founder Jody Orsborn:

I am so excited to announce Making London. We came up with the conference idea whilst still at The Backscratchers. When the company was acquired by Working Not Working, Rima and I turned to each other and said, “Wait! We still want to do this.” We gathered up some of the most amazing women we knew, including Shanice of The Elephant Room, Victoria of CreativeMornings/London and Nene of We Are Stripes to help and started to plot. The theme of the conference is the "Conference for Creators". We wanted to do something that showcased the people that inspire us on the daily: the inventors, the doers, the makers. It’s our love letter to the London creative community. In the spirit of the conference, we’ll be donating 100% of ticket sales to We Are Stripes, an org that helps support Black, Asian, & Minority Ethnic students in the creative industries. We're so grateful to Katie at Eventbrite and Pamala and Justin at Working Not Working for understanding our vision and who helped us make that donation possible. Love to our media sponsor Dazed Media, too.
